Palace of Culture and Sports is a multifunctional complex, situated in a central location in the Sea Capital of Bulgaria – Varna. It is one of the symbols of the city and over the years it has become a point of holding cultural events, sports events, exhibitions and conferences.
In the year 2015, two significant sports events took place, both in the cultural history of the city and on a European scale.
On May 7, 2015, the Palace of Culture and Sport hosted the World Cup for gymnastics and acrobatics with more than 1000 participants from 37 countries.
The Congress Hall in the Palace of Culture and Sport hosted the Group C matches from the second division of the World League Volleyball 2015. The most commercial volleyball tournament took place between June 27 and July 11 and gathered in Varna the teams of Bulgaria, Cuba, Argentina and France . More than 4000 fans per match supported the Bulgarian national during the whole race.
In October of that year, a stage of the European Men’s Volleyball Championship was held, where Bulgaria was a homewoman together with Italy. Group C with the teams Poland, Belarus, Slovenia and Belgium played all their matches in front of the Varna audience.
